About Me
I am an intuitive artist, working straight from my heart centre. Art is my inner compass, it is how I navigate life. I paint any and every emotion and feeling, light and shadow and all the in-betweens. I paint it all out, and through that sacred act, I arrive at a deeper understanding about both myself and my practice.
It is a never-ending journey of discovering, uncovering, reclaiming, and letting go.
I play a game of hide and seek in my paintings and mixed-media work, where layers are thickly applied then scraped off in sections to reveal hidden or covered up elements. A recurring theme is my personal search for freedom and how it is connected to broader collective fights for justice.
Through my art, I connect to my truth and my authentic expression. I see art making as a form of visual storytelling and am continuously amazed by the mystical insights and wisdom that emerge through the intuitive approach I apply to my practice.
I am a single mother of two boys, and through my art-making, I explore and navigate the complexities of motherhood, including my hopes, dreams, and challenges of being a single parent and a practising artist. My art has become a powerful medium for processing the realities of solo parenting, charting my personal journey, and finding strength in vulnerability.
Through my work, I advocate for a more inclusive and accessible art culture—one that no longer views motherhood as an obstacle but as an enriching and empowering part of a creative identity. I aim to challenge outdated narratives, encouraging the celebration of the unique perspectives and contributions that mothers bring to the creative field.
When I am not getting messy in the studio, I love to ground myself in nature by going for long walks through the woods or by the sea on weekends away from London. Lazy Sunday morning lie-ins in bed with my two boys and our pet cat are also top on my happy list!
You may also sometimes find me on the stage, filming a scene or rehearsing a script, because I am also a trained actor. I love to sing, dance, play the guitar and piano, and connect with others through music too. I believe that creative expression is utterly liberating and allows people to recognise their creative source and uncover who they really are.
